Bulldog Saloon is another local hangout with a rustic vibe and is a great spot to indulge in some American comfort food. Craving a little something sweet after dinner? Satisfy your sweet tooth with a trip to Sweet Peaks Ice Cream. Founded in 2010, this family-owned locale offers ice cream, sorbet, and delicious treats.
A stroll through the charming Central Avenue or the historic Railway District will reveal a robust array of local shops and galleries.
Whitefish is a year-round destination with plentiful attractions – starting with Whitefish Mountain Resort. With more than 3,000 skiable acres, this resort is one of the largest ski resorts in the country. Not only is it one of the biggest, but it’s also one of the best. The resort was recently ranked the third best ski resort by SkiMag.com.
Located just a short jaunt away, Glacier National Park offers everything from hiking, rafting, camping, and much more. Whitefish Lake is situated on the edge of town and is a popular place for swimming, boating, and camping. Book a tee time at Whitefish Lake Golf Club where you can play 36 holes on either the North or South course.
Meanwhile, the Iron Horse Golf Club is a great option for those looking for something even closer to home. The recently redesigned clubhouse features a covered patio kitchen, newly expanded pool deck, reimagined locker rooms, and spa facilities. The beautifully carved wood bar and dining restaurant are located upstairs, offering scenic views while enjoying your meal. Members can also take advantage of two outdoor swimming pools, four outdoor tennis courts, four outdoor pickleball courts, and a marina on Whitefish Lake. Locals can participate in a number of community events and festivals throughout the year, and Under the Big Sky Festival tops the list. Taking place in July, this annual event celebrates the tradition of gathering friends and families together under the sky to listen to music.
